On-going classes

 

Drop in Classes – Our drop in classes continue to be a convenient way to learn to knit on your schedule.  Use these times to pick up needles for the first time or work on a complicated part of a sweater you don’t understand.  You can also use a drop in class if you can’t make it to a regularly scheduled class.  $10 for 1 hour, $15 for 2 hours.

Beginner - Intermediate

Tuesday 1-3 pm, Wednesday 6-8 pm, Saturday 9:30 – 11:30 am

Beginner Knitting

 We've had a lot of requests for beginner knitting classes.  We will hold beginner classes MOST every Saturday morning from 10am - 12 noon. These are pay as you go classes, $15 per session - come the days you can.  Please call ahead at least 1 day to register for that week's class.

 

Socks
Anyway you'd like!


 
Socks - If you've ever thought about making your own socks, now's the time.  Today's sock yarn is so much fun, nothing beats homemade socks!  Knitters should be at an intermediate level before trying this class.
Basic Double Point Sock
Learn to work with double pointed needles and turn the proverbial heel. 
which runs 3 weeks.
Tues, July 15, (skip a week), July 29, & Aug. 5  6 - 8pm  Cost $45 + supplies. 

Toe up Socks

This is the perfect technique if you're not sure if you'll have enough for long cuffs --- divide your yarn into 2 equal weight balls, and you're off! We'll use double point needles.  2 sessions.
Tues, July 15, (skip a week)& July 29, 10 am-12 pm  Cost $30 + supplies. 

2 Sock's on 1 Circular Needle

Eliminate the dreaded second sock syndrome. Make both socks at the same time. This is a speedy way to make your socks. Don't be afraid to try something new

Mittens


Here's a small summer project (and a way to jump-start your handmade holiday presents) that will allow you to learn how to use double pointed needles. You can even try felting your mittens to make them thick and warm.  Several pattern options available. 2 sessions, Fri., July 18 & 25  1-3 PM
Cost: $30 + supplies

 

Lace Sampler


This is a beginner's intro to lace knitting.  We will learn about charts, symbols and written instruct

 

 

 

Beginner Crochet

Session 1: Learn the basics - the stitches, the tools, and how to read patterns
Session 2: Progress onto Granny squares and let your imagination decide your project.
Session 3: Learn to make flowers and perhaps a bouquet necklace or some beading if time permits.
Stop in the shop to see class samples.

3 sessions - Tues, Aug 19 & 26,& Sept 2, 6-8 pm Cost: $45 plus supplies

 

 

Crochet Market Bag

Let's say goodbye to all those plastic shopping bags.  Using basic crochet stitches, make this earth friendly market bag.  A basic knowledge of crochet is essential.  Try one of our new yarns - corn fiber "aMAIZing", or the recycled Viscose fiber from Nepal, or even the organic Cotton "Hope".

Crocheted (Beaded) Scarf Pin


Crochet with basic stitches a beaded Scarf Pin.  (Sample available soon in store)
Class includes bead kit, crochet hook and instruction.

1 session Aug 28, 10 am -12 noon
Cost:  $35 (supplies included)

 

Nuno Felting

... is a technique in which you felt a fiber to a loosely woven fabric. No knitting or crocheting experience necessary. Bring in your snippets of novelty yarns to add texture and interest to your project. 1 session, choose Sat. July 19, 1:00 - 3:00 or Fri. August 1, 1:00 - 3:00 Cost $25 (includes materials)

 

Creme Freche

Cables give intricate looking results, but are straight forward to do.  With this lovely scarf and mitts, you will learn how easy cables are and also the use of double point needles. 2 sessions, Tues Aug 12 &19,  6-8 PM   Cost $30

 

 

Swallowtail Shawl Knit-along

Come to the support group for those who love Interweave's Swallowtail Shawl by Evelyn Clark. Lace is everywhere, find out why people voted for the Swallowtail as one of Knitting Daily's top 5 reader favorites.
This is not a class; you should be comfortable with various increases and decreases. Chart reading a plus.
If you aren't comfortable with these things, try the Lace Sampler Class - that will get you ready for the KAL.  This pattern may also be found on Evelyn Clark's website in the Portfolio section.
